The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mildred Vesala can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Colleen McGrayne Hocking

To the Vesala family: My sincere condolences on the passing of your dear mother/grandmother Millie. She was a very good and loyal friend to my parents, the late Caroline and Harold McGrayne Sr. Whether it was singing in the St. Gerard Majella choir with my mom, or bringing Communion to my parents when they no longer could attend church, Millie was always there to lend a hand. As mom's condition rapidly declined, Millie never forgot mom, as many had. Millie always kept in touch, and although mom could not speak, I knew that she understood that her friend had remembered her. Millie was a true friend, and will be greatly missed. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend the visitation and funeral, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all in the difficult days ahead.
