Our Story

Serving our community with care and compassion since 1950

Since opening our doors in 1950, the guiding principle of O’Sullivan Funeral Home has been the commitment to treating each family who comes to us as our own. With sincerity, pride, and dedication, we are committed to this time-honored tradition. Our reputation for providing the highest quality of service grew, and today we are privileged to serve hundreds of area families each year.

O’Sullivan Funeral Home operates from our original site on the corner of Cathcart and St. James Streets. The original funeral home has undergone two major additions over the years. Updates and improvements have been made to make the property modern and functional. Additional properties have been acquired to provide ample parking and a handicap entrance to the building.

Dennis O’Sullivan was the First Funeral Director and he along with his partners, John Newhouse, a Funeral Director in Sault Ste Marie Michigan and Tom Magee, a local businessman operated the funeral home. After the deaths of John Newhouse and Tom Magee the O’Sullivan family operated the firm until it was sold to Len and Rose Donnelly in 1974.

In February 2014 Lisa Damignani purchased the funeral home from Len and Rose Donnelly. Lisa had worked with Len & Rose for 6 years prior to buying the funeral home, and is very proud that the funeral home will remain family run and locally owned, as it started in 1950.
