Charron, Ruth Ann Mary Eileen (nee McCulloch)

As much as our hearts hurt to announce that Mum has passed, we are so relieved that she has been reunited with the love of her life.
On Saturday, November 14, 2020 in the comfort of her own home and arms of her family, Ruth Ann passed on into the arms of her love, Gene Charron.

Born March 2, 1938 in Sault Ste. Marie to her loving parents Jack and Alice McCulloch.

Mum was the most fun-loving mother any of us could have asked for. She loved music, she loved to dance and her spoon playing legacy will forever live on in all of us!

Scott Asselin (Elaine), Shane (Peggy Lee), Jack (Lois), Alyson (Danny Tremblay) and Heather Ann (Joby McClelland)

Her 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren brought her such joy. She looked so forward to each new one that came a long to love, not spoil! She was heartbroken when we lost our little Kaden Gene this summer.

Her Brother, Gordon (Mary Lynn) Marjorie and his family will miss his big sister dearly. They were always a big part of each others lives and kept their children close. She was predeceased by her brothers and their wives, Donald & Jacqueline and William & Lois. Mum kept William's children very close and made sure each of them knew they were her family.

Gene's siblings and their children also held mum in very high regard, or at least they knew where a good party was! Leone Orr (Hugh), Marilyn Ross (late Ron), Eleanor Black (late Gerry), Lorraine Wood (late Glenn), late Ronald (late Lavina) and late Denton (Lois).

Mum was amazing at everything she touched. She instilled a work ethic in us that is second to none-or we couldn’t go out Saturday night! She left the Plummer Hospital to raise us kids and worked alongside dad to fulfil their dreams. It began with a little hobby farm where they raised beagles and made sure we never worried about a food shortage. Mum baked for the tourists and she went back to University and became a Foods Supervisor at the Algoma Manor. Then they found their dream home at Primeau and spent countless hours making it a snowmobile destination for so many to enjoy!!

As per Mum and Dad’s wishes, we will not have a service at this time but rather we will have a celebration at Primeau Lake in 2021.

We will have an announcement to save the date and ask you to bring your stories, guitars, spoons and whisky.

As for now, we ask you to share mum’s obituary and tag one of us kids. We enjoy all the personal messages; however, EVERYONE has a story or experience, please share that!

Our family would like to thank everyone that made it possible to keep her in her own home. Mum's charge nurse, Alyson and second in command, Autumn Connolly, Dr. Buehner and Ali Pettenuzo, The Bayshore nurses, Amy and Jessica, CBI homecare, Carepartners and the Northeast LIHN.

We would love to see all donations to children's charities so please consider Toronto Sick Kids or Make a Wish Foundation.

Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
