Obituary for Silvano Moschella

Print
After a valiant battle with Lymphoma and brain cancer Silvano passed away on November 25, 2018. Born in Tarcento Italy on June 16, 1944. Beloved husband of Helen Pilgrim. Predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Iolando (nee Foshia) Moschella. Brother of the late Guido, the late Emma Candido, Bruno (Adale) of Turin Italy, the late Romano, Mario (Antonietta) of Barrie, Ontario, Lucia (Tony) of Toronto, Gianna (Bruno) Udine of Italy and Marino (Eliana) of Germany. Silvano at the age of 15 started work in Germany for a few years and then moved to Canada in 1968, working in construction and became a very active Union representative. In 2000, he married Helen Pilgrim and together they opened a rare book and antique store in Toronto, eventually moving to Sault Ste. Marie to open Olde Town Antiques and Collectibles on Bruce St. Silvano was very much loved by his stepsons Michael (Lori), Tony (Chantal), Mark and Dan Stortini, as well as many nieces and nephews. He liked noting better than sitting over dinner with them and Helen conversing and debating world issues, politics and sports and demonstrated a vast knowledge in all though his reading was self study. Silvano was the kindest, hard working and loving man his friends and family can attest to. He never wavered in his love for them. He was cremated by choice. Memorial donations may be made to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund.
