It is with regret that we announce the passing of Sam Fleming on Saturday November 10, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. Born Samuel Fleming on November 23 1929, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Sam was married to Audrey, nee Mullan for 66 years. Father to Michael (Ellen), Stephen (late Shawn), Peter (Christine) and Fiona (Craig) Heatley. Proud Grandfather to Jennifer, Brenden, Emilee, Brianne, Christopher, Hayley, Jack, Brayden and eight great grandchildren. He is survived by sisters Dorothy and Patricia. Although born and raised in Northern Ireland Sam moved his young family to Canada in 1959 to embark on a career with Algoma Ore Properties. Never one to sit idle even in retirement he relocated to Delta On, to his beloved farm on which he spent many happy years. Most recently of Echo Bay Sam was stricken suddenly, he was surrounded by his family in his final days. Family and friends are invited to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James St) on Thursday November 15, 2018 for a Funeral Service in the chapel at 11:30am with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations that promote animal welfare would be appreciated.
