Keith Gordon  Benson
Passed away peacefully at Arch on January 14, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Born November 1, 1931 in Bear River, N.S. Loving husband of Marie for 43 years. Pre-deceased by his first wife Geneva Benson and infant daughter Nancy. Wonderful and caring father to Gordon (Alexandra), Greg (Debbie Shubat), Wayne (Phyllis), Nona (Mark Allemang), Eric (deceased) and Jennifer (Dean Daggett). Grandfather to Matthew (Mallory), Kyle (Alisha), Alexandra, Nicholas, Sarah (Robert), Kory (Tiffany), Christopher and Toni-Marie (Erik Riauka). Great Grandfather to Malachi, Ryker and Miyah-Marie. Survived by his niece Joyce Hazel of Nova Scotia, sister-in-law Pauline Hall and niece Pauline Gauthier (Jim). He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and spent a lot of time with his family over the years at his cottages on St. Joseph Island and Batchawana Bay. Keith was a long term employee of Algoma Steel and after retirement spent most of his time in Florida. He will be joining his 4 beloved boxers Socrates, Maximillan, Ceasar and Thor. At Keith’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private spring internment will be held at St. Luke’s Cathedral Columbarium. A special thank you goes to the staff of ARCH, CCAC and Home Care. Donations to ARCH would be greatly appreciated.
