Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Elwgren can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for John Gerald "Gerry" Elwgren

Suddenly but peacefully with family by his side at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday June 7, 2016, Gerry Elwgren at the age of 78. Predeceased by his parents John and Anna Elwgren. Brother of the late Betty Durocher (late Esko and the late Napolean) and the late Alec (Alice). Gerry was uncle to the late Bob (Sandra), Nancy, Fred, the late Mike, Janet, Susan, John, Bonnie and their families. He will be sadly missed by his good friends in Goulais River. As per Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held downstairs at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 (96 Great Northern Rd) on Sunday, June 12 from 1pm to 4pm. The family would like to thank Goulais Fire and Rescue Volunteers, the Sault Area Hospital Emergency Department and 3C for all the care given to Gerry. Donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
