Obituary for Alecta "Tata" Roussell (Deevey)

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!' Matthew 25:23

With heavy hearts the Deevey/Roussell family mourn the loss of their beloved Tata on her 85th birthday. Alecta was happily married to her soulmate Albert (Uncle Bert) until his passing 10 years ago. With faith she persevered and continued being active with the Holy Family Parish, the Korean War Vets; the Legion; the CWL and the Knights of Columbus. Alecta was always helping someone and was a dedicated caregiver to many friends and relatives in their times of need. Alecta loved children and had many nieces and nephews and Godchildren whom she gently (but firmly!) guided. But her heart surrounded Deanna Rowe (Ryan), her daughter and her grandchildren, Owen, Kaily, Ryley, Logan and Dylyn were a constant source of joy, as were her godchildren, nieces and nephews. Alecta was the Matriarch of the Deevey family to which a huge hole has been left. Loving sister to Edward (late Margaret); Winnie Stabenow (late Harry); the late Floyd (Greta); Phillip (late Mary); Cathy Holmes (Chuck) and her best friend and sister Phyllis. The Roussell family are equally pained by the loss of their Sister-in-law. Marion St. Jules (Louis); Brother-in-law Donald Russell (Shirley); Sister-in-law and Aunt, Yvette Roussell (late Lionel - Windy) and Late Brother-in-law Lorne Russell. With beloved cousins from down the line to out west and into Flint Michigan, Tata was known and treasured by all. Friends may call to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (Corner of Cathcart and St. James Sts.) on Thursday September 22nd, 2016 from 6pm – 9pm. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday September 24, 2016 at 10am at Holy Family Parish Church (208 Prentice) with Father Boguslaw Jaroszek officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. There will be a light luncheon at Holy Family Parish following. All welcome. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Aunt Shirley, Aunt Cathy and Bobbi-Jo for their tireless care of Aunt Tata while she was in hospital. To Katherine, Tasha and Brad for your overnight vigils, Loretta and Bernie Boucher and Rita Gallagher for the rides back and forth to church, and the countless other visitors who shared in the pain and prayers. And finally to the excellent nurses, doctors and CCAC of Sault Area Hospital – Merci! Donations to Holy Family Parish, Arch Hospice or Light the Cross would be gratefully accepted.

"He said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be

freed from your suffering." Mark 5:34
