Obituary for Donald Michael Young

Suddenly and unexpectedly on April 14, 2015, Donald Young in his 69th year. Loving husband to Donna. Son to the late Joan (nee MacDoanld) and Doug Young. Dad to Todd (Kristie), Natalie (Jon) and Travis (Michelle). Papa to Megan, Gavin Alyssa, Sara and Isabel. Brother to Carol Larsen (John) and Janet Biggs (Richard). Don graduated with a BA from Western University and a MA from Northern Michigan University. He was an elementary school guidance counselor till his retirement in 2002. He also taught distance education courses through Nipissing University. He was passionate about making a difference in the lives of his students. He enjoyed his retirement with Donna at the cottage on St. Joseph’s Island. He always looked forward to going down south to see the boys and reorganize their garages. Natalie and Don share the same sense of humour and could deliver a perfect zinger when an opportunity presented itself. Don and his boys enjoyed building garages and other projects, which usually went according to plan. Megan and Papa were two peas in a pod. Gavin and Alyssa will miss playing cards with Papa. Sara and Isabel will miss their cuddles with him. Don will greatly be missed by family and friends. A family service was held on April 16, 2015. Donations to the Sault Search and Rescue or the Humane Society would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
