Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with his family by his side on Sunday February 26, 2017, Frank Manzo in his 90th year. Loving husband of the late Tuovi. Cherished father of Peter (Margaret), Gary (Carolle), Carol Whitfield (Keith), Frank Jr. (Sylvia), Christopher (late Lori), Joseph (Cathy) and Judy. Grandpa of Peter Jr. (Nancy), Melanie Purvis (Jeff), Keith Daniel Whitfield (Lauren) and Brandon Schmidt. Great Grandpa of Madison Leclair, Emily Leclair, Ethan Purvis, Jack Purvis and Sophie Whitfield. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Annunciata Manzo. Brother of John (Ellen) and predeceased by his siblings Teresa McPherson (late Sandy), Rita Manzo, Mary Lundrigan (late Les). Frank was uncle to many nieces and nephews. Frank was the oldest City Councillor in Sault Ste. Marie’s history. His last term ended in 2014, when Frank was 87. He was also the longest serving councillor, serving for a total of 38 years in Ward 6. He was a mighty and passionate servant of the people for 38 plus years. As per Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Come and Go for Frank will be held at O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James St.) on Wednesday March 15, 2017 from 1:00pm-4:00pm and from 5:00pm-9:00pm. The family would like to thank Dr. Fera, the nurses of 3B, Katie Lyons, David and Lindsay for all the care and compassion given to Frank. Memorial donations may be made to the Sault Area Hospital or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
