Obituary for Harm Jan 'John' Logtenberg

Peacefully at ARCH, holding the hand of his much loved wife Anne, on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at the age of 73. Devoted Son of the late Jacoba and Harm Logtenberg. Son-in-law of the late Lena and Tony Slobodecki. Brother-in-law to the late Edward Slobodecki (Tut), Elsie Lavallee (Frank) and Amelia Deplonty (Jerry). Harm was uncle to Gerald Lavallee (Janet), Michele Lavallee (Sarah), Kris Lavallee (Tammy) and ‘Big John’ to Tyler Lavallee and Elisha Lavallee. John will be remembered as a great hockey coach. It made him happy when the kids now grown men, would come and acknowledge him. He loved his Toronto Maple Leafs and of course the Soo Greyhounds, of which he would go to the games over many years. He had worked at the Great Lakes Forestry Centre from 1967-1995 and will be remembered by his colleagues. Anne would like to thank Dr. Opryszczko and Aislinne, Dr. Nicki Apostle, CCAC (Kari Lynn), Para Med (Ryan), P.A.T.H. (Cynthia, Susan and Catherine), all the special people, staff and volunteers at ARCH, our neighbours, friends and relatives for their acts of kindness, care and compassion. As per Harm’s request, there will no services and a private burial will take place. Memorial donations in Harm’s name may be made to ARCH or the Sault Ste Marie Humane Society.
