Loving husband of 50 years of Anita (Alexander), cherished and dedicated father of Trina and Melissa. Will be missed by son-in-laws Steve Charlebois and Mike Wheatcroft. Adoring and heroic “Romer” (grandfather) of Luke and Brayden Charlebois and Ryder Wheatcroft. Brother of Germaine, Don (Jean), Ed (late Patricia), Mel (Eva), Jerry (Lee), Ken (Julia), Brenda (late John) Nesom, Jack (Constance), Brian (Mary). Brother-in-law of Sheila (late Paul) Dewar, Tom (late Carla) Alexander and Bob (Nancy) Alexander. A favourite uncle of many nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed. Born and raised in Mattawa, where he was active on all the sports teams that McElligott High School had to offer. After graduating teacher’s college, Romeo was hired by the Sault Ste. Marie Separate School Board to teach elementary school. After spending several years in an elementary classroom, Romeo became the Physical Education Consultant until his retirement in 1993. He also loved his years of teaching Physical Education AQ courses for teachers through Nipissing University. His very active athletic life with the Catholic School Board left a mark on all those who had the fortune to work with him. His love of old timer sports kept him active well into his seventies. Romeo loved to spend his summer at camp on Lake Superior where he made sunsets a memorable time of day for all. Romeo was a people person and enjoyed attending Greyhound Games with his buddies. He was a family man who loved to be surround by family for every holiday and special occasion.
