Obituary for William Andrew Cairns

Cairns, “Andy” William Andrew -
It is with profound sadness that we announce Andy’s passing at SAH on the evening of Friday, June 14th, 2019 at the young age of 59; with family & his beloved Sheltie, Yvette by his side. We find some comfort that he is now reunited with his parents, Donald & Alma Cairns, his brother & best friend Chris Cairns & his Uncle Alfred.
Andy will be profoundly missed & lovingly remembered by his big brother, Richard Cairns, his nieces & nephews, cousins & his Aunt Edith. He will be missed beyond measure by his “side kick” & partner in adventure, Yvette. He loved & spoiled his little “Princess”.
Andy left his mark in our community & in many other’s in the Province as a Professional Engineer operating his own small Engineering Firm; Cairns Engineering since 2006. He will be there in spirit & happy to see the doors remain open & business to proceed in his absence. Andy loved his work. Especially Storm Water Management Projects or anything that created a challenge. He didn’t let challenges or adversity get him down; he just kept moving forward. He will be greatly missed by many of his clients, colleagues, friends & on a grand scale by his secretary, Janet.
Andy was a proud Piper. He Loved Music & he was a part of an amazing community of musicians who will feel his absence. He will also be greatly missed by his cherished friend Mylene; Polka dot Thursdays will never be the same.
Andy has been cremated at River’s Edge. Family & Friends are welcome to join in a celebration of his life on Friday, June 28th, 2019 upstairs at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall on Great Northern Road in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Celebration of Life to start at 1 p.m, Followed by a small service at Topsail Island (Bellevue Park) & a Fellowship from 3-5 p.m at the Legion.
