Passed away peacefully on June 2, 2020 at the Sault Area Hospital, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 77. Beloved husband and best friend for 55 years to Ruth. Loving father of Dona Running (Rick). Proud grandfather of Alicia Gioventu (Alex Dassylva). Cherished great grandfather of Zoey Dassylva. Dear brother of Mary, late Robert, Carmen (Joanne) and Emma Evans (late Ken). Brother in law of Harry Linley (Jan). James will be sadly misted by many nieces and nephews. At James’ request, there will be no funeral service or visitation and cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank Dr. Merrack, Dr. Reich, Dr. Lee, and the nurses of 1B at the Sault Area Hospital for all of their care and compassion during this time.
