ERSCHEN, Stanka
Our precious mother/grandmother passed away surrounded by family on Friday March 13, 2020, at the age of 91, wife of the late Josef. Mother of Sonja (Jeff) Cove, Miriam (Floyd) Barill, David (Marcia) Erschen, and Vanja (Conrad) Amendola. Loving cherished grandmother of Lauren (Micah), Mitchell (Sylvia), Lance, Justin, Keirstyn (Jake), Amanda (Ryan), Vanessa (Adam) and Megan (Kyle). Great grandmother of Riley, Jodyce and Zayn. Stanka immigrated to Sault Ste. Marie in 1959 from Slovenia. Married for 59 years, Stanka had much joy in raising her children. She worked at the Sears cafeteria and later she enjoyed being a nanny for a few families. The family would like to thank Care Partners and the many personal support workers who gave mom exceptional care in her home. A very special thank you to the dedicated nurses, personal support workers and staff at Extendicare Maple View (Harmony Bay). The gentle care and respect that you gave to our mother is truly appreciated by her family. Stanka was a woman of great integrity who had a close relationship with her God, Jehovah. Stanka’s heartfelt expressions were always appreciated by her congregation. Her favourite scripture was Romans 14:8 - “For if we live, we live to Jehovah, and if we die, we die to Jehovah. So both if we live and if we die, we belong to Jehovah.” In view of COVID-19 there will be a private family service.
