Obituary for Russell John Smith Heise
Born in Mindemoya, Manitoulin Island. Passed away peacefully at the F J Davey Home, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on Sunday January 8, 2023 at the age of 95. Husband of the late Eva Heise (nee Pace) for over 70 years. Father of Brian (Jane) and Barry (Lise). Grandfather and great grandfather of many.
Russell was born with a gypsy soul. He travelled the world, coast to coast, for many years. “Last Trailer Pull”.
As per Russell’s wishes, there will not be any visitation or services and cremation will take place.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the F J Davey Home. Thank you to Jenna and Cindy for singing and holding Russell’s hand when he passed away. Thank you to Jane for setting up his room at the Davey home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Algoma Veterans Association (payable by cheque).
