Obituary for Richard Peter Luck

Richard Luck, beloved husband of 68 years to Betty Ann (nee Taylor), passed away peacefully in his 93rd year at the F.J. Davey Home in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario on December 21, 2022. He is survived by his children Paula Corbeil (John) and Ted (Suzanne). He will be missed by his grandchildren Louise (Jiri), Laura (Bik), Dustin, Samantha (Mike) and Nicholas. He was a great grandfather of one, Ajay. He was predeceased by his parents Felix and Anna, his sister Irene Rogers and his brothers Leonard and Ted.

Richard always had a big smile for everyone. He was passionate about Chiropractic, running a very successful clinic for 40 years in Toronto, serving as Chairman of the Board for the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. In 1984 he was recognized by the Ontario Chiropractic Association with the Chiropractor of the year Award.

Richard was fun loving and enjoyed sports throughout his life. He attended Parkdale Collegiate in Toronto where he met and married his high school sweetheart Betty in 1954. Together they took up skiing with their high school friends and were founding members of the Georgian Peaks Ski club in 1960 in Collingwood. Their ski chalet was a hub for family and friends to come to learn to ski.

Most of all Richard enjoyed being with his family and friends. He always had a story with which to entertain and share a laugh together. These stories and memories will be cherished by all who knew Richard.

On behalf of the family, a big heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers at the F.J. Davey Home, Sunset Manor and Chartwell who looked after Richard during the past 5 years.

A celebration of life will be arranged for a future date.
