Obituary for Philip Daniel Leslie

Leslie, Daniel-
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Leslie. Dan passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Friday, July 10th, 2020, at 62 years of age, after a courageous and lengthy battle.

Dan was born to parents, Eileen and Lloyd Leslie, on July 20, 1957, in Alliston, Ontario. He will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Angela and his children Candice Leslie and Josh (Katie) Leslie. Brother of Susan (Larry) Canduro, David Leslie (Donna Betournay), and the late Lynda (Lee) Laity. Brother-in-law to Randy (Patty) Chaimbrone, the late Elaine (Dave) McKay, and the late Michael (Gloria) Chaimbrone. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Dan’s family was his everything. He married Angela, the love of his life, in 1980. His love for Ange was what kept him fighting for so long. Dan’s children were his world. He taught them to fish, to select quality tools, to love nature, and to be thankful. Dan was so proud and happy to be a grandfather to Arlo Leslie and Oscar Leslie.

Dan will be missed greatly by his furry friend and loyal sidekick Angus, who continues to exemplify Dan’s loving nature by hugging people to get treats (a trick that was taught to him by Dan).

A special thank you to Dr. Curran and all the nurses and doctors in the Sault Area Hospital ICU for their loving care and support of Dan during his final days.

As per Dan’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be a private Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
