Obituary for Muriel Cantin
Passed away peacefully at Sault Area Hospital on February 4, 2023, at the age of 99. Beloved wife of the late Armand Cantin and the late Donald King. Loving mother of Don King (Eva) and the late Douglas King. Grandmother of Michelle Rosso (Robert). Great-grandmother of Derek Rosso and Joseph Rosso. Dear sister of the late Bill Carr, the late Colleen Cruickshank, the late Merle Lytle, the late Jack Carr, the late Connie Carr and the late Millie Fulcher. She will also be dearly missed by her dear friends Gail Hill, Pat Rosso and Krista Trudeau.
Muriel loved to read and did so voraciously. She was also an avid bridge player and could be frequently found in a spirited game with her friends at the Seniors Center.
Through her dedication and hard work Muriel created a 25-year career at Sears while also providing a life and home for her family. It is this tenacious spirit that guided her throughout her life.
She was grateful for the support of her community; it is through the help she received from the March of Dimes and her friends from Villa Santa Maria that she was able to live an independent life until the age of 99.
As per Muriel’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Sault Area Hospital 1B unit for their care and compassion and especially her nurse Megan whose comfort and kindness made her smile in her final days.
