Obituary for Patricia 'Pat' Hands
HANDS, Pat –
Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, with her family by her side.
She is now reunited with her husband, Frank Hands. Cherished mother of Liz Marion (Wayne). Special grandma of Paisley Marion. Daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Sheehan. Dear sister of Frankie, Michael and the late Kevin.
Born and raised in Liverpool England, Pat decided to become a teacher. She moved to Canada after reading an ad in the newspaper stating they were looking for teachers in the “friendly” Sault Ste. Marie where she taught at Mountain View Elementary and was very passionate about her work. The Sault is where she met Frank and soon after they got married. They lived their lives in Goulais River, in the home he built for them. She took pride in her gardening and her flowerbeds. She spent her spare time reading, she loved her mystery novels and science magazines. Over the years, Pat made many good friends, including her cat Fluffy, who has ben left in Liz’s great care. Pat enjoyed many years enjoying the Algoma Conservatory of Music and many private violin concerts with her granddaughter.
Thank you to all the friends and family Pat met along the way. Thank you to her home care team, Liv, Nancy and Sierra, as well as all the exceptional staff we have dealt with in the past six months.
Cremation has taken place and at this time no services will be held. Memorial donations in Pat’s name may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home.
