Obituary for Mary Antonina Wishon (Mancuso)
WISHON, Mary A. (nee Mancuso) –
March 29, 1933 – February 17, 2023
With broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother in her 90th year. Surrounded by her loving family, Mary passed peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital after a brief illness.
Loving mother of her son James Wishon and daughter, Terry Ellen Luzzi and her husband Rick. Nona will be missed by her grand fur-baby, Bella.
Daughter of the late Jim and Assunta Mancuso. Mary was the last of five siblings, predeceased by Joseph, Elizabeth, Albert and Doreen as well as in-laws Evelyn Mancuso, Joe Mertens and survived by Phyllis Mancuso and Don Burt. Predeceased by Bill Wishon.
She will be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren, as well as her lifetime friend Rita Bertoli and her many friends. The customers of Camera Craft will miss her wit and charm. Mary was a long-time active member of the Princess Marie Jose Lodge (Verdi). She was our rock and our strength, she stayed young by keeping busy right until her final days.
Thank you to the extraordinary care and compassion given to our mother by the Sault Area Hospital staff, who allowed us to celebrate her with music and dance. A special thank you to family and friends who have reached out with overwhelming love and support.
A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be held on February 28, 2023, at St. Gregory’s Parish (71 Estelle St., Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or ARCH would be greatly appreciated (payable by cheque or online using the links below).
