O’DONNELL, Janice (nee Smith)
Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the Sault Area Hospital on August 13, 2020 at the age of 74. Best friend and soul mate of the late Tim O’Donnell for almost 50 years. Beloved mother of Mark (Cathy) and the late Ryan (Kelly). Loving granny of Kelsey and Liam. Birth mother to Brent Small (Margaret) and aspiring grandmother to Kate and Erin. Daughter of the late William and Ilene Smith and daughter-in-law to the late Owen and Ernestine O’Donnell. Loved sister of Lorna Scott (Roger), Rod (Jane), John (Linda), David (Sherry) and Brodie (Beverly). Aunt to many. Dear sister-in-law of the late Dan (Everdina), Kim (late Jacqueline), Kathy Ross (Brian), John (Paula) and the late Lee. Janice was a dedicated surgical room registered nurse working for many years at the Plummer Memorial Public Hospital Sault Ste Marie as well as the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia in Prince George BC. She was a 1966 graduate of the Plummer Hospital Nursing Program. We wish to thank Dr. Danny Hill as well as the staff of 3B, 3C and the ICU at the Sault Area Hospital for their compassionate care in her time of need. Due to the current Covid restrictions, a private family graveside service will take place at a later date with interment at Carlyle Cemetery in Iron Bridge Ontario. It is Janice’s wish that donations in her memory be made to the Galilean Bible Camp, or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
