Obituary for Mary Anne Boniakowski

Our angel passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 58.

Daughter of the late John and Doris Boniakowski. Mary Anne leaves behind her loving sister and adopted mother – Katherine Sadowski (Donald). Loving sister to her brothers the late Russell, late Mike, Frank (Jane) and Nick (Sandra) and sisters; the late Stella Rooney (Bob), late Vicki Tessier (Marcel), and Janice Hill (Cal). Mary Anne will be remembered by her nieces and nephews, and step nieces Allison (Brian), Donna (Dan), and Sandy. Mary Anne will be remembered by many family members, the whole Sadowski family and friends.

Mary Anne worked for Soogoma and CLA with Bonnie and Chris, which she enjoyed for many years. She enjoyed swimming, bowling, dancing, music, watching wrestling and Blue Jay ball games. There will be plenty of memories to remember with Mary Anne such as traveling to Florida, California, South Dakota, Missouri, Wisconsin Dells and going to Dollywood and Graceland in Tennessee.

The family would like to thank all of Mary Anne’s devoted respite workers for the special help and care - Susie Clement, Patty Nye, Grace Kenny Jones, Mary Sue Rivard for all the care over the years, and to Angela Damignani for being a loving aunt and nurse. Special thanks to all the PSW’s who looked after Mary Anne and to CCAC staff for all their help. To all our neighbours that were always there for us, thank you.

There will be a public visitation on Monday, November 15th 2021, from 11:00am - 12:00pm at O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James St. SSM) The family has chosen to remove distancing requirements and capacity limits at the funeral home. As per this request, proof of full Covid vaccination and government issued ID will be required upon entry into the funeral home for those age 12 and over. Guests without full vaccination will not be permitted to enter as per BAO regulations. Masks are mandatory and the use of hand sanitizer is appreciated. There will be a private family service with cremation to follow. Interment to take place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, if you would like to attend please meet at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel for 12:45pm. Memorial donations may be made to Community Living Algoma (payable online or by cheque) or St. Mary’s Ukranian Church (payable by cheque).
