Memories and Dust

In the end when we say goodbye
We are left with memories and dust, a boatload of tears
a profound sense of loss, a big hole in our hearts
In the end when we say goodbye

So let this be a lesson to us
In the here and now
Make the memories, in the short time we have
Cherish the smiles and laughter
Store them in your heart, no matter how small,
And in the end when we say goodbye
Pull them out, one by one, and you will find, that you
Have filled that gaping hole with the memories, smiles and laughter
In the end, when we say goodbye.
