SHAW, Joyce Lois (nee Derry)
Passed away peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on June 28th, 2023, with family by her side.
Predeceased by her loving husband William Shaw.
Daughter of Margaret and Charles Derry. Sister to Rita, Erma, Victory, Louisa, Phillip, Clifford, Harry, Willis, Peggy, Pearl, Dorothy and Loretta.
Devoted mother to James Shaw (Marilyn), Daniel Shaw (Julia), Robert Shaw (Carol) and Nancy Rowswell (Daniel).
Grandmother to Dustin Shaw (Alissa), Ashley Bleakney (David), Steven Shaw (Carrie), Megan Shaw (Jesse), David Rowswell and Rebecca Palahnuk (John). Great grandmother to Dekker Shaw, Karter and Tiia Shaw and Jackson Bleakney.
Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Sincere thanks to the staff at the F.J. Davey Home Birch Lane for all their care, kindness, compassion, and service in our mother’s care.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday August 25, 2023, at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church (352 Northern Ave E, Sault Ste. Marie), followed by a reception.
Memorial donations to ARCH would be greatly appreciated by the family. (Payable by cheque).

God’s Garden

God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
With the help of angles, they flew you to your heavenly place
Gods garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best
He knew you were suffering; he knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well on Earth again
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be Thine”
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home
