Obituary for Kimberly Ann Grisdale (Lehtinen)
GRISDALE, Kimberly Ann (nee Lehtinen) –
Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, August 6, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with her brain tumours.
Beloved wife and best friend of Kevin Grisdale for 35 years. Loving mother of Steven and Jennifer. Reunited with her parents Helen Newton (late Bob) and Elmer Lehtinen. Dear sister of Ron Lehtinen, Lorri Robinson and the late Bill Lehtinen (Lilly). Sister-in-law of Paul (Shirley), Steve (Debbie), Laura Dixon (Jeff) and Jim (Allison). Daughter-in-law of Betty and the late Dail Grisdale. Beloved niece of Dave (Dee) Pauze, Chris Pauze and the late Patsy Ruttle (late Bucky). Also remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kim will be sadly missed by many friends and colleagues from the YMCA Daycare where she worked for over 25 years.
Kim loved children, so she chose a career as an Early Childhood Educator. When she had children of her own, he was in her glory, and they became the focus of her life. Kim also loved time spent on her flower and vegetable gardens.
A tremendous thank you goes to Dr. Pearce from Health Sciences North, Sunnybrook Hospital and all the staff at the Sault Area Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion given to Kim and our family.
In following Kim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to attend Kim’s graveside service on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11am at Pine Grove Cemetery (10 Ansonia Rd, Huron Shores, Ontario). A Celebration of Life will follow at the family’s cabin, 139 Ansonia Road. Please bring a chair. Memorial donations made to the Sunnybrook Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family (payable by cheque or following the link below).
