Obituary for Kenneth James Robinson

Robinson, Kenneth-

Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on August 18, 2021, at the age of 63. Survived by his wife and elementary school sweetheart, Shelley. Proud father of Melissa (Jean-Pierre) and Tyler (Jillian). Best grandpa to Lucie, Louis-Philippe and Joey. Son of the late Matthew and Anna Robinson. Brother of the late Brenda Reinhardt (Joe), Janet Viau (Bill), late Danny, Elizabeth King (Clarence) and John (Pam). Brother in law of the late Karen-Ruth Ditschun & Audie, Randall & Slavica Hull, David & Yvonne Hull, Warren & Helle Hull, Christine Skinner and late Ernie. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Ken worked at Algoma Steel for 39 years. He loved hockey, NASCAR and taking selfies to send to his children and grandchildren. Never wanting to miss a moment, he was often the one gathering people at family events for the big group photo!

He was a wonderful dad. He put his all into his kids and not one day went by without them feeling his love and pride. Perhaps his most honoured title was Grandpa. His three grandchildren melted his heart every day.

Ever the social butterfly, Ken thrived around people and loved his family and friendships. It was rare that he left the house without running into someone he knew!

However, his most cherished place was at home with his wife. They were married for almost 39 years and together for 49 years! To have seen them together is to know what love and friendship can truly be.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at Lower Island Lake #643 Highway 556 on August 27, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to come as they are. A sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at the Sault Area Hospital. Their compassion, kindness and care will not be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arthritis Society or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to O'Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
