Obituary for Claude Vienneau

July 25, 1945 to October 22, 2023

It is with great sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of our Father/Papa Claude Joseph, at home
surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Beresford New Brunswick. Son of the late Olga and Jean Vienneau. Beloved father to Brenda Harten (John Major), Claude (Natalie) Vienneau, Rachel Vienneau and Raymond Vienneau (Amber Sparks). Papa to Mitchell Waite, Alisia (Julien) Mantello, Ashley Harten (Jason Fabbro), Peyton, Hillary, Josephine, Emma and Miley Vienneau, Jonathan (Amanda Howson), Dylan and Christopher Frech (Jasmine), Nikeisha (Cameron), Braydan, Kyela and Brieanna Vienneau. Great-Papa to Max, Maverick, Oliver, Quinten, Amelia, Isobella, Charlee, Chloe, Mason, Mabel, and River.

Brother of Alban (Edwina) Vienneau, Réal Vienneau, Raymond (Evangeline) Vienneau, Doris (Dominic) Power, Blondine (Leo) Godin, Rose Marie (Paul) Pitre, Gerard (Irene) Vienneau, Anne Marie (Yvon) Comeau, Clifford Vienneau and Roger (Juliette) Vienneau.

He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. He loved his visits with Elgin Harten and his chats with his friend Emilien Comeau of NB. Special person to Lillian, Laurie, and Larry Lecouter of NB.

Known to many as Papa or Froggy, Claude loved being with his family especially his many grandchildren. In the earlier years he was a jack of all trades (carpentry, building houses with his brothers, maintenance/janitorial and contract positions). He loved hanging out in his camper and sitting by the fire. He can usually be found enjoying his coffee by the waterfront; He particularly loved his morning coffee at the Marina in Bathurst/Beresford NB. He Spent his final years in the Sault as he moved to be closer with his children and grand children, but his heart also remained rooted in the East Coast where he spent most of his life.

We will cherish the many memories that will forever be in our hearts.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the SSM Paramedics, fire department and police for their extra care and compassion during this time. Your professionalism, compassion, and swift response were a source of comfort during a challenging moment. We are immensely thankful for your service. Special thanks to O’Sullivan Funeral Home for your compassion and guidance during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke (payable online https://www.heartandstroke.ca/ or by cheque)

-Nous t’aimons Papa.

By the waterfront we find peace,
Where the waves and memories never cease.
In the gentle tide and endless blue,
His spirit lingers, forever true.
