Obituary for Rene Charles Joseph Lavallee

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, June 15, 2023, in his 91st year. Husband of Beryl (Tew). Loving father of Christine Corbett (Ed) and Jaqueline Lavallee. Predeceased by his loving sons Phillip and Michael. Rene will be missed by his grandchildren Melissa Parr, Tammy Parr, Blair Martin, Leann Noel (Daniel), Jennifer Fountain (Jason), Ryan Lavallee, and Nicole Mcleod. Loving great grandfather of 9. Son of the late Russell and Cecile Lavallee. Predeceased by his sisters Jeanne Horbatuk (late Bill), Cecile Pavoni (late Dominic), Madeleine McKinnon (late Allister). Son in law of the late Louise and Edward Tew of England. Survived by his brother-in-law Harold Tew (Jean), and sister-in-law Daphne Hoddinott (late John), predeceased by Joyce Hoddinott (Ray), Barbara Eagles (Stan) all of England. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rene served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a peacekeeper during his lifetime. Rene was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 025.

Thank you to Father Jeff Shannon of Precious Blood Cathedral for his comforting prayers. Thank you to Dr. Booth, 3C and 3B nursing staff at SAH. And thank you to his niece Michelle Inch for her care and compassion and being there for us when we needed her.

At Rene’s request there will be no funeral services, but there will be a celebration of life and interment at on a later date.
