Surrounded by his loving family at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday August 8, 2020 at the age of 82.
Loving and devoted husband of Maureen (nee O’Neill) for 62 years. Cherished and very loved father of Laurie Irwin (Scott), Steve (Janet), Michael (Marylou), Bob (Lucie) and Colleen.
Much loved grandpa of Bryan Brown (Dawn), Shana Brown (Scott Swain), Carly Irwin, Jeff Irwin (Melissa Mancuso), Nickolas Brown (Masha Maskel), Zachary Brown (Stuart Gray/Guy Gaudet), Logan and Megan Brown. Great grandfather of Taylor James Swain, Jax Calvin Anthony Irwin, and Jack Michael Roy Brown, who came into this world one short day before his passing.
Son of the late Wilfred and Dorothy Brown and brother of the late Tom (late Doreen), late Jimmy (late Diane), late Jerry and late Danny. Son in law of the late Hugh and Phyllis O’Neill. Brother in law of Jim O’Neill (Nancy) (late Gaye). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Roy was a proud employee of Bell Canada for 30 years. He loved the outdoors; fishing and hunting and spent many years playing golf at the Sault Golf Club. A private family service will be held. Special thank you to the Sault Area Hospital – 3B and the staff at the F.J. Davey Home – Apple Orchard.
Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (payable by cheque or online) or the F.J. Davey Home would be appreciated by the family.
