Obituary for John Hanchar

John was born on a farm near Insinger, Saskatchewan and went to a small school at Insinger and then to Foam Lake High School. After graduation John went into the Canadian Air Force for several years and then took an Honorable Discharge. He attended the University of Saskatchewan in the Engineering Program. He worked in Yorkton & Carlyle Saskatchewan before moving east. John was in Quebec for a short time before he finally came and settled in Sault Ste. Marie working at Algoma Steel. Sault Ste. Marie became his home for 50 plus years. He had many interests such as carpentry, mechanics, gardening, dancing and tinkering on many of his projects. John was a religious & spiritual man. John is predeceased by his parents, Bill & Irene, brother Mike, sister-in-law Mary, nephew Blaine and a special friend Jennine. He leaves to mourn his 2 brothers Ernie (Lorrine) & Lawrence, and 2 sisters Lynda and Sylvia (Ron) as well as several nieces & nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 20, 2022, at 11:00am at O’Sullivan Funeral Home. A Come and Go will follow.
