Obituary for Jean 'Johnny' Vital Chenier

CHENIER, Jean Vital

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean (Johnny), on October 27, 2023, in Sault Ste. Marie, at the age of 60.

Loving son of the late Gilberte and Ernest Chenier. Brother of the late Richard, Pierre (Lucette), the late Yves, Louise Murray (late Earl), Denise Chenier-Tulonen (Henry), Ron (Donna) and Suzanne Gibbons. He was cherished by many nieces and nephews.

John was a kind, gentle, and humorous man and major Montreal Canadiens fan. He also achieved many successes in his life, one receiving a silver medal for swimming in 1979 Special Olympics; another receiving a diploma from Sault College; many participations awards in floor hockey, and bowling, and many certificates of achievements.

A private family burial will be held in May 2024 at the Sands Cemetery, north of Bruce Mines.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Community Living Algoma, the Rydall Bank Historical Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated (Payable by cheque).

The time will come when all of us say goodbye, feel that aching in your heart, leaving you broken inside, but we're never really gone, As long as there's a memory in your mind.
