It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hubert at the Sault Area Hospital with his family by his side. Dearest husband for 33 years to Helen Diane Foisy (nee Devoe) and the late Marie (Allard), the mother of his 5 children. Father of Denis (Patty) of Calgary, AB, Luc (Tracey) of Cedar BC., Conrad, Ivan and Micheline Rancourt (Robert). Stepfather of John Devoe (Jenny) of Cambridge. Dear father in law to Cheryl Deneault and Debbie Krmpotich. Beloved grandfather of Jasen, Christian, Jordan, Kristopher, Chase, Luke, Travis (Jennifer), Matthew (Jamie), John Rancourt, Megan Dicandia (Nick), the late Lyndsay Devoe, Shayna (Garrett) and Hayley Devoe. Great grandfather of Dominic, Bradley, Allison, Lorelei, Elliot, the late Logan and Bennett. Dear brother of Guy (Denise), Rene (Julie), Hughette Hull (Vance), Gail Boissoneault (late Marcel), Giselle Staley, Anita Ouellette-Cook, Vincent, Pierrette, Lucille Schiavo (Arthur), Elise Futter (Norman) and Marc (Christine). Best friend of the late Harvey Eadie (Kathy). Uncle to several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Hubert was the most loving, caring, kindest gentleman to everyone he knew. We all loved him dearly as he is the one who held our family together in any situation. He entertained every child on his knee with his harmonica playing, which I am sure they will never forget. He enjoyed playing his violin for all of us. Hubert or Huge Bear or Papa Bear gave the biggest hugs to all of us. Thank you to everyone who helped us through this journey. Thank you to our Homecare nurses, PSW’s, Physio, Paramedics, Kirby & Lisa, his checker challengers, the Urology clinic and the doctors and staff at the Sault Area Hospital for their kindness and patience with Papa Bear. A special thank you to the Palliative team for your comfort and kindness to all of us. “A kindness once done, is never forgotten”. At Hubert’s request, no funeral will take place. Due to COVID, a Celebration of life will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be sent to ARCH, the Alzheimer Society (SSM Branch) or the Emmanuel United Church Memorial Fund in memory of Hubert.
