Obituary for Guido Joseph Suriano

The family of Guido Suriano sadly announce his gentle passing at the F J Davey Home, September 22, 2022, one day before his 98th birthday.

Predeceased by his wife, Irene Suriano Veale, and his second wife, Fran McMaster Suriano.

Guido is survived by his son Larry (Susan), his granddaughter Shari (Paul), his grandson Pat (Erin), and his great-grandchildren Sophie, Dominic, Faye, Grace, Olivia, many nieces and nephews and the late Randy and Brian McMaster families.

Guido was predeceased by his parents Valerio and Giuseppina, as well as his siblings; Armand (Assunta, Kay), Adelina (Gabriele) Nardi, Frank (Evelyn), Louise (Frank) Fiorino, Albert (Angeline), Orlando (Yeta) and Adolpho (Barbara, Gwen).

Guido will be remembered as a kind, talented, gentle man. He was generous to a fault with family and friends. His skills in carpentry and repairing everything from dry-cleaning machines to antique baby bassinets were appreciated by everyone who knew him. He travelled all over the globe especially appreciating the structures of many cultures. He built many homes to perfect standards, taking his time creating superior finishes on everything from furniture, to cement, to plaster. But most of all, he’ll be remembered for his quick wit and gentle personality.

The family would like to thank cousin Marlene Zuccato for her loving, consistent care of her uncle. Another thank you to Marlene’s family and Guido’s neighbour, Joe Valenti, as well as so many other neighbours for keeping an eye on Guido while he lived alone in his own home until June 2021 until he was 97 years old.

A private family service will be held with interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
