TOMAS, Gregory --
Gregory Leo Tomas, 74, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Gregory was born January 11, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. While he excelled in many areas, Gregory had a passion for mathematics and graduated with his Masters from Lake Superior State University. After marrying, he lived in Florida and Louisiana where he taught school then changed professions and became Regional Manager of several convenience stores throughout many southern states. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Gregory is survived by his loving wife Mary of 51 years and his two children Kevin Tomas and Jennifer Tomas; granddaughter Layla Tomas; brother Brian Tomas and sister Pauline Tomas; sisters-in-law Juanita Tomson, Diann Bellisimo and Stephanie Tomlinson; brother-in-law Michael Stevenson; many loving cousins, family members and lifelong friends.
He is predeceased by his loving parents Leo and Anita Tomas, mother-in-law and father-in-law Irma and Steve Stevenson; nephew Steven Keech and grandson Joshua Pace.
Memorial Service for family and friends will be on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022, at 11 a.m at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1207 Forest Drive, New Bern, North Carolina). A private interment will be held at a later time at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
