Gary McLarty passed away suddenly at home on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the age of 67. Cherished life partner of Patricia. Loving father of Taylor (Brandon). Adored grandpa of Grayson and Hunter. Son of the late Doug and Doris McLarty. Dear brother of Janet, Shelley, late Colin, late Brian, Linda, Mary and Scott. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, especially Brian, Chris, Tina, Colleen and Sheena.
Gary had kind and gentle soul, helping anyone who needed it and willing to give the shirt off his back with no hesitation. Gary took on many passions, he loved the outdoors and cooking.
He was known and will be missed by so many people, from his family to all the friends he has made in life including those he worked with at Algoma Steel, where he worked for many years. Gary was the life of any party and would never pass up the opportunity for a good time. His smile and the way he lit up the room left a mark on many lives and he will be forever missed.
The family would like to thank the first responder for your efforts on helping Gary. To Cst. Kochanowski, thank you for being a kind support during a very difficult time.
At this time, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
