Obituary for Erik Klaus Jokinen
JOKINEN, Erik Klaus –
On June 25, 2023, Erik Klaus Jokinen passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 75. Cherished husband of Tess Jokinen. Father of Laura Lacaille (Joey), Dave McLaughlin (Caitlin), Johnathon McLaughlin (Christine), Darren Jokinen (Kerri) and the late Jennifer Hawkins (Jamie). Special grandfather of Connor, Jerry Gabby and Tannis whom he loved to have at the cottage.
Predeceased by his parents Taimi Ristimella and Alvar Jokinen. He is survived by his siblings Shirley Tye (late John), Ritva Sanz and Ron Jokinen (Maja).
Erik was in the Credit Union Industry for 35 plus years. He was first CEO of Sudbury Credit Union and was instrumental in building the Credit Union into the financial institution it is today. He then was CEO of Northridge Credit Union and retired in 2012 to his cottage on Dean Lake, where he loved to entertain family and friends.
At this time, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donation made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation in Erik’s name would be greatly appreciated by the family. Cremation entrusted through O’Sullivan Funeral Home, 705-759-8456.
