Passed away peacefully at home after a courageous 7-year battle on April 9, 2020 in her 85th year. Predeceased by loving husband Gabriele (Gabe). Cherished mother of Sam and Robert (friend Susan Daly). Daughter of the late Gennaro De Cicco and Rosina (née Mauro). Sister of the late Teresa Gagliardi (Giovanni), late Vincenzo (Felicetta), late Gilda Maione (late Pasquale), Pasquale (Giuseppina), late Mario (Carmela), late Attilio (late Francesca), Lauretta Mancini (Vincenzo), Maria Sacco (late Giuseppe), Amedeo, and Antonio (late Sonia). Sister-in-law of Maria Briglio (late Carmine), late Luisa Falsetto (late Emilio), and Elvira Caputo. Special Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Emma loved spending time outdoors, whether it be walking or tending to her garden and flower beds. She had a gentle heart and a contagious smile that will be missed by many. A private visitation, family service and burial were held on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Thank you to Drs Hill, Shafiee, Ianni, Vance, Nicki Apostle, and all the staff at the Cancer Clinic, especially Cindy Sheaves for the compassionate care shown towards Emma during her battle. Thank you also to Bayshore Health, especially nurses Andrea, Brandy, Kim, Michelle, Jen and Blaze, as well as the staff at Northeast Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated.
