Obituary for Eloise Faye “Boe” Eldner

Boe passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday March 5, 2023, in her 78th year. Fortunate to have had two wonderful men in her life, she was the beloved wife of the late Raymond McBride and the late Fred Eldner. Adored mother of Chris (Corey), Ed (Tammy), Scott (Tammy), Cherie Belanger (Mike) and Heather Koskela (Henry). Much loved grandma to Melissa, Skye, Raven, Tiffany, Kyle, Brianna, Baylee, MacKenzie, Damon, Payton and Nicholas. Loving great-grandma to Briella, Beau, Ryder, Olivia and Cassidy. She was a special aunt and dear friend to Sue MacKinnon.

Predeceased by her parents Mildred and Harry Ulch, her sister’s Jacqueline (late Dave) and Cheryl (Ray), her brother Melvin and her infant daughter Victoria Lynn. Survived by her brother Buck (Wendy), and sister’s Bette (Jim) and Karin (Larry).

Boe was a longtime resident of the Thessalon Area and a proud pillar of the community. She owned and operated Thessalon Flower Pot for over years 40 years and as a florist she was always there to support others during their most joyous and grievous moments. She was a proud member of the Lions Club for over 35 years and could often be found delivering Christmas cheer baskets or coordinating community events. She had a big heart and was always there to help others in need.

Anyone lucky to know her would know how much she loved sharing stories, knitting for everyone and that she always ended her conversations with “I love you.” She loved her family unconditionally. She leaves a large void in our family and will be missed and remembered with love every day.

Thank you to the staff and physicians of Sault Area Hospital who cared for her over the past several months during her illness. Special thanks to ICU staff, Dr. Berry and Dr. Booth for the care and compassion shown to her and our family in her final days.

Close friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday March 11th, 2023, from 1:30-3:30pm at O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St., Sault Ste. Marie.

Memorial donations may be made to the Thessalon Lions Club, Sault Area Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
