Obituary for Edmond 'Ed' Haynes
HAYNES, Ed
Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on July 24, 2023, at the age of 76.
Beloved husband of Diane. He was always proud to be a father to his six children: Grant (Kristen), Paul (Barb), Sarah (Nate), Heather (Darren), Alison (Travis) and Michael. Papa Eddie to 8 grandchildren; Adam (Katie), Jacob (Tyarra), Ava, Claire, Madison, Zach, Keely and Josh. Great grandpa to Emerson. Son-in-law to Barb and the late Bud Inch.
Ed enjoyed cooking and baking, always wanting to feed the family on special holidays. He will always be remembered for his endless creativity in the kitchen. He loved working outside in the yard. Planting flowers and shrubs, feeding the birds and watching them play in the bird bath. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and loved discussing the nuances of the games with his sons Michael and Paul.
As per Ed’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
Special thanks to Matthews Memorial Hospital, the staff there was amazing. Also, special thanks to the nurses in ICU at the Sault Area Hospital, Dr. Landy and Dr. Ghosh, for care and compassion received. Lastly, thank you to Dr. Rassouli and the nurses at the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic, especially Jenn whom he was always happy to see.
Memorial donations in Ed’s memory may be made payable by cheque or online to the Sault Ste. Humane Society or to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund.
