Obituary for Darlene Shirley Dimma (Dimma)

September 6, 1951 - September 29, 2023

Our hearts are broken to announce the sudden passing of Darlene Dimma. Darlene passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on September 29, 2023. Darlene was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, predeceased by her parents Dalton Dimma and Frances Hill.

She is survived by her cherished son Jesse Fantham. Darlene leaves behind her loving sister Debbie Dimma Forget (Jamie) (late Denis Forget), sister-in-law Linda (late Vernon Dimma), sister-in-law Marj (late Graydon Dimma), her best friend Leslie Fantham who was like a sister to her. Darlene was a wonderful Auntie; she will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Darlene was employed with the federal Government for 40+ years. She was a very hard working and knowledgeable employee and was a very valuable resource in all positions she held. She always wore a smile, was kind to everyone she met and always tried to see the good in people. Darlene retired in 2013.

She had many friends and relatives who will miss her dearly. To know Dar was to love her, she was extremely giving. She was the kind of person who would do anything to help out. She loved to do home renovations, painting, flooring, she did it all. She was a huge movie enthusiast; she could sit and tell you about the whole movie even if you didn't want to know. Dar had a natural affection for animals, she never met one she didn't want to take home, and she usually did. She had many animals over the years and spoiled everyone of them. She loved sitting in her beautiful gazebo in her garden, visiting with family or friends with her Tims in hand. Dar loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humour.

Her greatest love was her son Jesse. She was very proud of his accomplishments and the wonderful young man he became. She cherished every moment they spent together.

Dar, Fly high, Forever in our hearts.
