Obituary for Carmen Joseph Blatter

BLATTER, Carmen

It is with broken hearts that the family of Carmen Joseph Blatter announce his peaceful passing on October 19th, 2023, at his residence in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, at the age of 74. Survived by his partner (Mon Ange) Carmen Charsley, his children, Michelle (Nick) Allaire, Renée (Chris) Klemm, Denis (Jasmine) Blatter, Monique (Steve) Décary and Curtis (Lindsay) Blatter and 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond (Nancie) Blatter and his sister, Suzanne Blatter. Predeceased by his parents Paul Louis and Antoinette Blatter and his brothers, Emmanuel, Paul, Robert and Pete Blatter. Greatly loved by many, nieces, nephews as well as many friends.

Carmen was born in Laverlochère, Québec but grew up in Sault Ste Marie. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Loved to be surrounded by the beauty of nature and could spend hours just watching the trees and the birds. He knew exactly when the sun would rise and set at different times of the year. He was so smart in many aspects of life, we all truly valued and will greatly miss his words of wisdom. He loved the game of hockey, and never wavered from his team. Les Canadiens just lost their biggest fan! Go Habs Go!

Dad was a jokester and always liked to keep things light and positive, even right up until the end. He was an amazing father, grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and all the people that had the pleasure of knowing him.

To honour Carmen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration was held at his final resting place.

The family would like to sincerely thank all the doctors and caregivers especially Dr. Booth, Dr. Spadafora, Louise, and Bayshore nurses Monica and Dawn for their excellent care during Carmen’s long courageous battle.
