Obituary for Shirley Jean Boniferro (Hodgson)

BONIFERRO, Shirley Jean

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Boniferro at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 63 on Sunday, August 16th, 2020. Daughter of the late Irene Jordan and Leslie Hodgson and sister of Joe, the late Geraldine (Charlie), the late Cecil, the late Adrian, the late Francis (Howard), the late Victor, Mike (Debbie), Eddie, the late Barbara (Johnny) and Robert.

Cherished wife for 24 years and best friend for many more of the late Patrick Boniferro, now happily reunited. Beloved mother of Josie (Dennis), Kristie (Thomas), Mindy (Andy), Wayne, Tiffanie (Bryan) and Harley (Megan). Loving grandma of Samantha, the late Patience, James, Erika, Tabitha, Mya, Koda, Salena, Alisha, Justin, Chase, Tessa, Lucas and Aurora. Loving great grandma of Brooklyn, Monika, Kailey Jo and Dylan. Aunt to numerous nephews and nieces and cousin to many. Shirley will be tremendously missed by her entire family and friends. She was always known as a little fighter. Her will and determination always allowed her to do her best for her family and every effort of hers was truly appreciated.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will hold a private visitation. A public funeral service for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 27 Fourth Line East (up too 100 people). A small feast celebration will take place at her home in Rankin Reserve after the service.

The family thanks the Sault Area Hospital staff for their care and support during her stay there. The family also thanks Rhonda Lesage and her team for their kindness and support over the years.
