Obituary for Mary Jean Janveau (Sanderson)

Mary Jean Janveau (Sanderson)
Mary Sanderson-Janveau passed peacefully in the company of her loved ones on Monday, April 9th, 2018, at ARCH following a lengthy illness. Born in Toronto, ON, on September 24th, 1953, to M. William and M. Jean Sanderson. Dearly loved wife of Brian Janveau. Loving mom of Duncan (Michelle Denneny) and Kelsey (Matthew Silva). Loving Marinee to her grandson, wee Russell. Sister of Jill MacKay (Steve) and sister-in-law to Germaine Janveau, late Romeo Janveau (Anita), Don Janveau (Jean), Ed Janveau (late Pat), Mel Janveau (Eva), Gerry Janveau (Lee), Ken Janveau (Julie), Brenda Nesom (late John) and Jack Janveau (Constance). Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mary grew up and went to school in Mattawa, ON. She was a graduate of the last Registered Nursing class from Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing in 1974. Mary displayed exemplary skill and compassion while nursing at Toronto General, Kitchener-Waterloo Memorial, North Bay Civic, and the Mattawa General Hospital. She immensely enjoyed her brief period of teaching at Canadore College in the Nursing Program. During her youth, she achieved many awards with the Girl Guides. She will be remembered for her love of water and the outdoors, enjoyment of curling, swimming and time spent at camp. Mary's greatest love were her animals and her chuddly bonkus, who were never far from her side, and always part of her family. Mary's family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Arch for their compassionate care. Many thanks especially to Dr. Booth, Dr. Buehner, and Dr. Schwarz. As well, thank to the nursing staff at SAH, especially to Mary's niece Amy Nesom. Visitation will be held at Emmanuel United Church (224 Bennett Blvd) on Saturday April 14th from 12:00pm-1:30pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00pm with Rev. Nancy Ferguson officiating. Donations in Mary's honour can be made to Arch, The Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
